NMSU to host APPA Supervisor's Toolkit training Feb. 3-6

New Mexico State University will host the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers (APPA) Central Region "Supervisor's Toolkit: The Nuts and Bolts of Facilities Supervision" program Feb. 3-6 at the NMSU Golf Course and Conference Center.

Supervisor's Toolkit training has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the facilities management professional. It is a structured, open-ended and pragmatic approach to developing supervisors. It is not so much a team approach as a development process, designed to help supervisors realize both personal and professional growth.

"New Mexico State University is proud of the partnerships we have developed with other universities as we implement 'best practices' in Facilities Management," said Glen Haubold, NMSU associate vice president for Facilities and Services. "Attendees include facility staff from University of Texas at El Paso, University of Texas at Austin, University of Nevada - Reno, El Paso Community College, Tulsa Community College, Dona Ana Community College, University of North Texas and Tec de Monterrey Campus in Guadalajara."

The program began Feb. 3, and will end at 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6. Cost to attend is $425 for APPA members and $525 for nonmembers.

Instructors Rodger La Beth and Vickie Younger will guide participants through several topics, including "Supervision, What is it?," "It's More Than Administrivia," "Communication, Let's Talk," "If it Weren't for the People...," "Motivation and Performance," "Customer Service Triangle," and "Leadership Tools for Success."

The NMSU Golf Course is located at 3000 Herb Wimberly Drive in Las Cruces, N.M.
