NMSU?s Arrowhead Center to host StartupBus Seattle tour stop at NMSU

Arrowhead Technology Incubator at New Mexico State University will host the fifth annual StartupBus Seattle tour when it makes a stop in Las Cruces from 7 a.m.to noon on March 4 at Arrowhead Center, 3655 Research Drive.

StartupBus organizes the most intense startup ?hackathon? in the world, where top entrepreneurs from all around North America compete to build the next generation of technology companies over the course of a 3-day bus ride.

?Arrowhead Center is very proud to be part of StartupBus Seattle and to support the 72-hour startup challenge,? said Zetdi Runyan Sloan, director at the Arrowhead Technology Incubator. ?We will continue to support events like these that encourage entrepreneurship and innovation in our community.?

The event is co-sponsored by Andele Restaurant, Corner Bakery Cafe and Dunkin? Donuts.

StartupBus 2014 will take place from March 2-6, with buses from seven cities around the continent converging in Texas for a 200-person competition. Each bus contains an average of 35 ?buspreneurs? and five to six teams per bus will develop innovative technology businesses during the three-day road trip.

?It?s a challenging experience both physically and mentally, but the byproduct of this is an opportunity to create new friendships with talented technologists on a very personal level,? said Dominick Pham, StartupBus Seattle conductor.

The event is free and open to the general public from 10:30-11:15 a.m. as the teams pitch their ideas. For more information on StartupBus North America, visit http://northamerica.startupbus.com.
