BARNES AND NOBLE OPEN MIC NIGHTS


Barnes & Noble at NMSU will continue the popular Open Mic performances from 5 to 8 p.m. Fridays. To sign up to perform, contact bncafe@nmsu.edu.

JEFF DUNHAM SHOW

At 7: 30 p.m. Thursday, March 13, master ventriloquist Jeff Dunham will return to the NMSU Pan American Center with his new show, ?Disorderly Conduct,? featuring fan favorites Achmed, Walter, Jose Jalapeno, Peanut, Bubba J and Little Jeff. JURIED STUDENT SHOW OPENS AT THE UNIVERSITY ART GALLERY

The University Art Gallery at NMSU will host their annual Juried Student Show, beginning with an opening gala from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the UAG. This event is free and open to the public.

The exhibition will feature artwork created by both undergraduate and graduate students from various majors at NMSU, and is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their talent and skills while engaging with their community.

The exhibition will run through Saturday, April 5.

The University Art Gallery is located in D.W. Williams Hall on the NMSU campus, at the intersection of University and Solano Avenues. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 12-4 p.m., with evening hours from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesdays. Designated gallery parking is available, and general parking on the NMSU campus is free on weekends and after 5 p.m. on weekdays.

ATKINSON RECITAL HALL TO HOST DONA ANA LYRIC OPERA

The Dona Ana Lyric Opera will present Jacques Offenbach?s comic operetta, ?Orpheus in the Underworld,? at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 14; 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15; and 3 p.m. Sunday March 16, at the Atkinson Recital Hall on the NMSU campus.

Conductor Evan Dorbandt will lead an orchestra of NMSU students and faculty. The production is sung in French with English supertitles, and features new English dialogue written by director John Carlo Pierce.

WAC BASKETBALLTOURNAMENT

NMSU Men?s and Women?s Basketball will compete in the 2014 Western Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament held at the Orleans Arena inside The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., March 12-15. Tickets will be sold on a daily basis at the Orleans Arena Box Office. Students can receive a discounted ticket price of $20 a day, by showing their NMSU ID.
