NMSU Registrar Michael Zimmerman to retire after 30 years of service

Following 30 years of service to New Mexico State University, Registrar Michael Zimmerman will retire May 1.

?We would like to thank Mike for his 30 years of dedicated service to NMSU,? said Bernadette Montoya, NMSU?s vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. ?He has been a valuable asset to NMSU, and we wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors.?

An NMSU alumnus, Zimmerman began working at the university in 1984. He has been the NMSU registrar since 1994.

?Mike took great pride in his service to the university and to the students he served,? she said.

In addition to his role as the university registrar, he directed each semester?s commencement ceremonies to ensure successful and memorable events for NMSU graduates and their family and friends.

A search for the next university registrar will begin soon.
