New Mexico State University Center for Learning Assistance offers graduate school preparation workshop

The New Mexico State University Center for Learning Assistance will offer the workshop "Preparing for Graduate School" from 3-5 p.m. Feb. 12 in the university's Corbett Center Senate Chambers.


kshop will feature a panel of four speakers.

Laurie Churchill, program coordinator for New Mexico Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (NM-AGEP), will present "Why Go to Graduate School?" from 3-3:30 p.m. Tasha Wyatt-Beck, program coordinator of services at the Center for Learning Assistance, will cover preparation for the Graduate Record Examination from 3:30-4 p.m. Margaret Mendoza, academic counseling coordinator for the Ronald E. McNair Achievement Program, will explain the application process and how to write a personal statement from 4-4:30 p.m. Terry Cook, associate director for the Center for Learning Assistance, will close the workshop with a presentation on financing a graduate school education from 4:30-5 p.m.
