Freshman Lucas McKenzie was awarded with the men?s All Around honor, taking an impressive lead in tie-down and team roping with partner Sheldon Church.

?The men?s team dominated the competition, a huge accomplishment coming off last year?s undefeated season,? NMSU rodeo coach Jim Brown said.

Among the first place winners were: 2014 Reserve National Champion Tyke Kipp in steer wrestling and Courtney Campbell in barrel racing. Josh Davison took the lead in bull riding and Garrett Hendrix in tie-down.

The rodeo team currently has 41 active participants, a stretch from previous years.

?I?m very proud of our teams, they competed well this past weekend with several new members doing quite well,? Brown said.

The next rodeo is scheduled for Sept. 26-27 at Cochise College in Douglas, Arizona. For a full list of rodeo events visit the NMSU Rodeo Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/nmsu.rodeo.
