ASNMSU to host vigil in remembrance of student

The Associated Students of New Mexico State University will host a memorial at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the student memorial site on the east side of Corbett Center, honoring the NMSU student who died and other students injured from Thursday?s crash.

?We are hoping to come together to share our thoughts, prayers and love in remembrance of Jo Anna Aurora Rincon and the students injured,? said Mark Baccei, assistant dean of students.

Provost Dan Howard and ASNMSU president Wesley Jackson will be in attendance at the candlelit vigil.

In case the weather does not permit this outdoor event, the first floor of Corbett Center has been reserved.

?We would like to bring the campus community together over this tragedy and provide an opportunity for reflection,? Baccei said.

Anybody wishing to donate to the Rincon family can visit the Go Fund Me account established in Jo Anna?s name. Deposits can be made through http://www.gofundme.com/jarincon

President Carruthers reminds the campus community that counseling services are available. The counseling center number may be reached at 575-646-2731.
