NMSU chemistry students to present Chemistry of Household Items

WHAT: Chemistry of Household Items student poster presentation


WHO: NMSU chemistry students and Feifei Li, course instructor

WHEN: 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4

WHERE: Sigma Xi?s Science Café at the Las Cruces Museum of Nature and Science, 411 N. Main Street

New Mexico State University?s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and the Las Cruces Museum of Nature and Science will present Chemistry of Household Items, a poster presentation by students detailing the chemistry involved in everyday household items at Sigma Xi?s Science Café.

?I am glad to see that the students are applying concepts they learn from this chemistry course to understand the chemistry in household items such as beer, coffee, batteries, etc.,? said Feifei Li, assistant professor of chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences.

The posters will be on display from now until Jan. 30, 2015.

Students will be on hand from 4:30-5:30 p.m. to discuss their posters.

This event is free and open to the public.
