NMSU communication studies alumnus to give talk on national communication

New Mexico State University alumnus Cyrus Salazar will give a public speech on ?Living in a Dangerous World of Polarized Communication: What Should be our National Narrative?? at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Health and Social Services Auditorium, Room 101A.

Salazar graduated from the Department of Communication Studies and is now an official with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

?Cy Salazar is one of our most talented alumni and can share personal experiences and current information very clearly,? said Kenneth Hacker, communication studies department head in the College of Arts and Sciences. ?He has a good understanding of the importance of how the United States communicates with other nations and cultures.?

Salazar serves as the Director of the Early Resolution and Conciliation Division within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights. He oversees the USDA alternative dispute resolution policy for employment and program cases.
