"Pursuit" tells the story of attorney John Garcia, who becomes involved in a challenging murder case when people from his military past in Vietnam surface to threaten his life. As the murder case comes to a close, Garcia unravels a foreign threat that jeopardizes the national security of the United States.

"In 'Pursuit,' Rudy Apodaca tells a story of crime, punishment, love and political conspiracy, speaking with the authority that a long career as a distinguished jurist gives him," said Tony Hillerman, world-renowned author of award-winning mystery novels.

A trial lawyer for 22 years, Apodaca began his judicial career on the New Mexico Court of Appeals, where he served for almost 14 years. Since his retirement from the court, he has divided his time between his mediation and arbitration work and writing. He is currently working on a novel about the 200th Coast Artillery, a New Mexico National Guard unit that fought in the Pacific before its capture by the Japanese on the Bataan Peninsula in World War II.

Suggested parking for the event is in Lot 27 north of the Educational Services building. For parking in other lots, a free visitor parking permit can be obtained from the Parking Division, located at 4200 Research Drive on campus, or by visiting www.campusvisitor.com. Visitors must pay meters if parked in the metered parking area in Lot 17N west of Corbett Center.
