Panel discussion about the war in Iraq to be held April 22

A panel discussion titled "The War with Iraq: Historical Perspectives" will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in Breland Hall Room 333 on the New Mexico State University campus.


cussion will be presented by the Phi Alpha Theta history honor society and the university's history department.

Inigo Garcia-Bryce, assistant professor of history, said it is important to look at the war from a historical perspective.

Jamie Bronstein, history department head, will speak about civil liberties; Andrea Orzoff, assistant professor of history, will discuss the United Nations; Margaret Malamud and Harold Tollefson, associate professors of history, will discuss the Middle East; Louis Sadler, professor emeritus, will discuss military intelligence.

An open discussion will follow the professors' brief lectures and a small reception will be held afterwards.
