NMSU-sponsored Head Start program accepting applications for 2015-16 school year

The Doņa Ana County Head Start program, sponsored by New Mexico State University, is accepting applications for the 2015-16 school year.


Head Start is a comprehensive child development program that offers educational, medical, dental, nutritional, psychological and other services to families. To qualify, children must be 3-5 years old and their families must meet federal income guidelines. The program encourages families with children who have a diagnosed developmental delay to apply. Children who are 4 years old before September 1 are given priority.

To apply, parents must provide proof of income that shows total family income such as their 2014 tax return, three or more pay stubs, a written statement from their employer, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) documentation, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) scholarships, financial aid and I-20 Form if applicable. Parents should also take verification of the child?s age such as a birth certificate, baptismal certificate, passport or hospital record.
