NMSU president to visit Farmington to announce STEM grant from APS Foundation

WHAT: Announcement of New Mexico State University and APS Foundation partnership to benefit Farmington schools.


WHO: NMSU President Garrey Carruthers, Ben Preusser, director of coal for APS, NMSU STEM Outreach Center director Susan Brown and Farmington Public Schools Superintendent Gene Schmidt.

WHEN: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13

WHERE: Career and Technical Center Dining Room, 301 North Court, Farmington, N.M.

VISUALS: NMSU President Garrey Carruthers, along with other NMSU officials and representatives from APS and Farmington Public Schools, will formally recognize the partnership between NMSU and APS to enhance science, technology, engineering and mathematics education in Farmington.

The APS Foundation recently awarded a $137,000 grant to NMSU to introduce two STEM-related after school programs for elementary and middle school students in Farmington.
