New Mexico State student receives National Hispanic Business Association award

New Mexico State University senior Shawna L. Quintana received the National Hispanic Business Association's (NHBA) Representative of the Year Award for the second year in a row.

Quintana was recognized at the NHBA leadership conference in Los Angeles in February. Students and NHBA chapters are chosen for awards based on reports of their yearly activities. The award includes a scholarship that is funded by donations from businesses.

Quintana, daughter of Ron and Christine Quintana of Las Cruces, graduated from Las Cruces High School in 1998. She is majoring in human resources management and will graduate in May 2003, after which she intends to go to graduate school. She works at the university's Information and Communication Technologies department.
