NMSU to honor Physical Science Laboratory

WHAT: Scholarly Excellence Rally recognizing Physical Science Laboratory

The Scholarly Excellence Rally will recognize New Mexico State University?s Physical Science Laboratory work as a core member of the Federal Aviation Administration Center of Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft Systems research. As part of the Alliance for System Safety of UAS through Research Excellence team, PSL is helping to safely integrate UAS?s into the national airspace. PSL was recently awarded a $400,000 task on small UAS Detect and Avoid Requirements Necessary for Limited Beyond Visual Line of Sight Operations.

After introductory remarks, PSL Interim Deputy Director Henry Cathey will discuss the Center of Excellence effort along with a few other potential upcoming efforts to support the FAA, led by principal investigator Dallas Brooks. At 9:30, Cathey will be available to answer questions. Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.
