The students are enrolled in Horticulture 240, which is a beginning floral evaluation and design class. Some students are members of the floral team at NMSU. The floral creations are part of the students? final examination for the course.

?The reception is a way to showcase the students? talent,? floriculture program coordinator Sabine Green said. ?The final exam has several components to help tie together the students? entire experience over the semester. This includes not only design, but management, product identification, marketing and personal communication skills.?

Not only will the floral creations be on display, but they will be for sale via a silent auction held during the reception. Bidding ends at 5:30 p.m.

The free event is open to the public and will be held in the Skeen Hall rotunda on the first floor. Light refreshments will be served.
