William Beezley, history professor at the University of Arizona, will speak about his research on beer along the border as part of the New Mexico State University Center for Latin American and Border Studies? Spring Speaker Series.

Beezley will give a lecture titled, ?Cerveza Bien Fria: Beer and Brewing in the Borderlands,? at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, in Room 101A of the Health and Social Services Auditorium, 1335 International Mall. The lecture is the second talk in the speaker series. It is free and open to the public.

?In addition to discussing his research on beer, always a popular topic, the lecture will reflect the interconnection between Mexico and the United States along the border,? said Iñigo García-Bryce, director of the Center for Latin American and Border Studies. ?Prohibition in particular helped to fuel the Mexican brewing industry in the border region.?
