New Mexico State ranks among top universities for Hispanics

The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education, a national journal of higher education, has ranked New Mexico State University as one of the nation's top colleges and universities for Hispanic students.


azine's May 5, 2003, issue ranked the Top 100 Colleges for Hispanics based on numbers of degrees awarded to Hispanic students. New Mexico State ranked 17th overall in the number of bachelor's degrees awarded to Hispanics and placed in the top 10 in bachelor's degrees awarded to Hispanics in six academic areas -- agriculture, computer science, education, engineering, home economics and protective services.

New Mexico State also ranked 12th overall in Hispanic enrollment among four-year colleges with Carnegie classification, 49th overall in the number of master's degrees awarded to Hispanics and 31st overall in the number of doctoral degrees awarded to Hispanics.
