SES Ventana is the newest way for students to find employment

The Student Employment Service (SES) at New Mexico State University has developed SES Ventana, a new, Web-based system for posting, applying and hiring for non-work-study student jobs.

tana allows prospective employers on the main and Dona Ana Branch campuses and in Las Cruces to post jobs and review students' resumes online after registering with SES. Students can then search and apply for the various posted positions. University and community employers interested in hiring students can post jobs online or over the phone.

George Barton, associate director of Placement and Career Services, said SES Ventana will be brought to other branches of the university in the future and may include work-study opportunities listed by the Financial Aid Office. Students also can print the information they enter online, which appears in the form of a resume, to use when applying for jobs outside the system.

Barton said Placement and Career Services has worked hard to make Ventana easy to use. "I hope the convenience, speed and efficiency of Ventana will encourage greater participation by both employers and students," he said. "Employers can post jobs and students can seek employment from the comfort of their own homes."

SES seeks to assist students in finding employment that will help them with the costs of a college education. It also assists employers in finding qualified employees and serves as a resource for students and employers in any matters related to student employment.
