New Mexico State Dance Program offers variety of summer workshops

The New Mexico State University Dance Program is offering a variety of dance classes for the community through the month of June.

"Dance Intensive" classes will be offered weekly through June 26. Morning classes include jazz or tap from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and modern dance from 9:45 to 11:15 a.m. Hip hop classes will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and choreography and creative processes will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m.

Flamenco workshops with Lucilene de Geus and Paco Antonio of Santa Fe will be offered June 9-14. These workshops include flamenco repertory from 3 to 5 p.m., ballet for flamenco dancers from 6 to 7 p.m. and beginning and intermediate flamenco from 7:15 to 8:15 p.m. Saturday, June 14, ballet for flamenco dancers will be offered from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and beginning and intermediate flamenco will be from 10:45 a.m. to noon.

A Pilates workshop with instructor Cindy Brian of San Francisco will be offered June 2-6. Pilates mat work classes will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m.
