?This year?s Salon Discovery gala event will be an amazing showcase of our civil engineering program and will feature three musical performances by NMSU?s resident string quartet, Latin Grammy award-winning La Catrina,? said Tim Ketelaar, associate dean of the Honors College.

?The College of Engineering will be welcoming approximately 60 local high school students and future engineers to the event. We hope these students and the public will join us for an after-party on the NMSU Horseshoe, immediately following the gala event, where we will be providing free gelato courtesy of the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences.?

The gala will include conversations with faculty from NMSU?s Department of Civil Engineering ? Paola Bandini and Phil King.
