McKee Foundation gift helps build university library engineering collection

The New Mexico State University Library has received a gift of $2,500 from the Robert E. and Evelyn McKee Foundation of El Paso. The gift is to be used for the purchase of current engineering materials for the library's collection.

enerous gift enables the library to better serve the students of New Mexico State University by providing up-to-date costly resources to support the engineering curriculum," engineering librarian Joanna Szurmak said.

Robert E. McKee is known and remembered as a "master builder" who built much of El Paso. He also built hospitals, hotels, banks, airports and other structures in other major cities, including Los Angeles, Dallas, New Orleans and Atlanta.

The descendants of McKee and his wife Evelyn continue their legacy of generosity to programs of higher education.
