NMSU Police charge student involved in shooting

NMSU student Karsten Cuthair is back in Las Cruces tonight after being released from an El Paso hospital. Cuthair was arrested this evening by New Mexico State University Police on a warrant charging him with aggravated assault on a peace officer with a deadly weapon, a third-degree felony; aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a fourth-degree felony; unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon on university premises and negligent use of a firearm, both petty misdemeanors.

As of 7:30 p.m., Cuthair is in the process of being booked under a $150,000 cash only bond.
