New Mexico State music faculty to perform at clarinet recital

New Mexico State University clarinet professor Laroy Borchert will perform a recital of solo and chamber works at 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, in the Music Center Recital Hall on campus.

t will perform Lutoslawski's "Dance Preludes," a set of dances for clarinet and piano. He will be joined by New Mexico State faculty members Laura Spitzer, piano, and Guillermo Quezada, viola, for two pieces of chamber music. The first piece was written by Mozart. According to legend, Mozart wrote the combination while he was playing a game similar to bowling, hence the nickname, "Kegelstatt Trio."
