High school juniors and seniors invited to attend Spring Visitors' Day

High school juniors and seniors interested in New Mexico State University are invited to attend the 2005 Spring Visitors' Day Monday, Feb. 21, on the university's main campus in Las Cruces.

Spring Visitors' Day is a chance for students and their parents to learn about New Mexico State's degree programs, student life and financial aid.

"About 2,000 people are expected to participate," said Sylvia Castillo, a senior admissions adviser. "Students can get a taste of what it's really like to be on a college campus."

Check-in begins at 8 a.m. at the Pan American Center, where students can pick up schedules and free T-shirts.

Starting at 9:45 a.m., prospective students will be escorted to the university departments of their choice and will have the opportunity to visit with faculty and staff.

Financial aid presentations will be given at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Corbett Center Auditorium. The Financial Aid staff will be available throughout the day at the Educational Services Building to assist students and parents in completing the 2005-06 financial aid applications.

Walking tours of the campus will take place every half hour from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tours will meet in the Corbett Center lobby. Booths from various student and university organizations will be set up in Corbett Center throughout the day.
