Improvisation workshop begins next week at NMSU

New Mexico State University assistant theater professor Tom Smith will teach a two-week workshop on improvisation for students 12-18 years old starting Monday, July 14, with a free final performance at 6 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the Hershel Zohn Theatre.

pants will be taught short-form improvisation, which is similar to the improvisational comedy used by groups such as ComedySportz, TheatreSports, The Groundlings and television's "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"

The workshop is the last of this summer's Children's Theatre Workshops at New Mexico State. The improvisation workshop will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. July 14-25, and the cost to attend is $125.
