New Mexico State University Museum announces

The New Mexico State University Museum will have the fall 2003 Saturday Family Workshops from Sept. 6 to Dec. 6.


Families are invited to spend Saturday afternoons at the museum to participate in arts and crafts activities and view current exhibits. Workshops are held Saturday afternoons from 2 to 3:30 pm. Workshops are free and no sign-up is necessary. All supplies are provided.

Workshop dates and projects are as follows:

-Sept. 6 -- Potato porcupines.

-Sept. 13 -- Ice cream.

-Sept. 20 -- Old-fashioned "Buzz Saw" noise makers.

-Sept. 27 -- Jar candle holders.

-Oct. 4 -- Peanut buddies.

-Oct. 11 -- Closed for fall break.

-Oct. 18 -- Advertising fans.

-Oct. 25 -- Hand decorated trick-or-treat bags.

-Nov. 1 -- Butterfly wand.

-Nov. 8 -- Make a Thaumatrope "Wonder Turner."

-Nov. 15 -- Sugar cube snow forts.

-Nov. 22 -- Make a 2004 calendar.

-Nov. 29 -- Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday.

-Dec. 6 -- Tin pictures.

The University Museum, located in Kent Hall at the corner of University Avenue and Solano Drive, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
