Making College Count orientation to be held at New Mexico State University

Placement and Career Services at New Mexico State University will host a Making College Count orientation, an interactive success presentation, for all interested students at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in the Corbett Center Auditorium.

tly, only 70 percent of college freshman progress to their sophomore year," said Making College Count co-founder Patrick S. O'Brien. "Couple that with the fact that only 50 percent of students entering college will graduate within five years and the importance of the program becomes very clear. We are providing students with a map to realize their goals and ambitions."

The orientation will be presented to more than 25,000 first-year college students at university campuses across the nation this fall. It emphasizes the importance of academics, time management, setting goals and maximizing opportunities in college and future careers.
