Art a la Carte to open at New Mexico State University

The New Mexico State University Art Gallery's lunchtime program Art a la Carte will present the first two films of "The Decalogue," a 10-film series by Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski, from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at the Art Gallery.

calogue" was originally created for Polish television in 1988-1989, garnering much attention for its ambition and craftsmanship. It played at Venice and at other film festivals, gradually attaining a legendary status.

When released in 2001 the series won instant praise, including being named the number one film of the year by both The New York Times and Entertainment Weekly. In its limited theatrical run, "The Decalogue" played across the United States to sold-out audiences and critical acclaim.

Art a la Carte features performances from the literary, music, dance and experimental arts community. All Art a la Carte events are free and open to the public. Free parking will be provided and guests are encouraged to bring a bag lunch.

The gallery is located in Williams Hall near the intersection of Solano Drive and University Avenue.
