The production will be set off by big screen video presentations and feature Oscar winning songs and dances from the 1940s to the present. Choral students will sing and dance to tunes from movies such as the timeless "My Fair Lady" and "Lullaby of Broadway." William Clark, well-known band director, will be the host for the evening.

"A Night at the Oscars" will open with a rousing group rendition of "Footloose" from the 1980s musical drama of the same name. Lori Ann Eorio, a master's student at New Mexico State, is the choreographer for "Footloose."

Senior NMSU student Sarah Cole will sing Marilyn Monroe's sultry "I Wanna be Loved by You" from "Some Like it Hot." Junior Ida Holguin will sing "When You Wish Upon a Star" from "Pinocchio" and sophomore Monica Cabrera will tear up the stage as Mama in "When You're Good to Mama" from the contemporary musical "Chicago."

Student director Angela Portillo, a senior at NMSU, will join choral director Jerry Ann Alt and the entire cast in the enthusiastic finale with "Lullaby of Broadway," designed to have the audience tapping their feet in time with the music.

Tickets for this show are $10, $12 and $15, and $3 for students. Season tickets for the entire 2003-2004 NMSU choral season are also available. For information and tickets, call (505) 646-1993.
