University Museum announces spring 2004 Saturday Family Workshop schedule

The New Mexico State University Museum will have the spring 2004 Saturday Family Workshops from Jan. 24 to May 8.


s are invited to spend Saturday afternoons at the museum to participate in arts and crafts activities and view current exhibits. Workshops are from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays. They are free and no sign-up is necessary. All supplies are provided.

Workshop dates and projects are as follows:

-Jan. 24 -- Make a Chompy Alligator.

-Jan. 31 -- Create Your Own "Musical Instrument."

-Feb. 7 -- Khamsa-African Good Luck Hand.

-Feb. 14 -- Create a Family Monument - "Mt. Family'more."

-Feb. 21 -- Graphics and Design.

-Feb. 28 -- Tinker Sculpture.

-March 6 -- Make a Terrific Totem Pole.

-March 13 -- Foil Standing Sculpture.

-March 20 -- Magnetic Bendy Statues.

-March 27 -- Closed for Spring Break.

-April 3 -- Dazzling Dangling Dancing Koi.

-April 10 -- Closed for Spring Holiday.

-April 17 -- Toy Maker.

-April 24 -- Dream Catcher Key Chains.

-May 1 -- Egg Carton Bugs.

-May 8 -- Dancing Dragons.

The University Museum Gallery, located in Kent Hall at the corner of University Avenue and Solano Drive, is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
