Cheo Coker visit rescheduled

The New Mexico State University Black Programs office has rescheduled a lecture by author Cheo Hodari Coker to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9.

Coker will discuss his first book, "Unbelievable: The Life, Death and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G." The lecture will be held in the Corbett Center Colfax Room (Room 210).

He previously had been scheduled to visit on Monday, Feb. 28, as part of Black History Month.

Coker is a hip-hop journalist turned screenwriter. His work has appeared in such publications as VIBE, Spin, the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Bay Guardian, The Village Voice, Premiere, Details, The Face, Rolling Stone, Essence, The Source, XXL, The Bomb Hip-Hop Magazine, URB and Rap Pages.

Coker also has worked on feature film scripts about Bob Marley, Tupac Shakur and Marion Barry for Warner Brothers, MTV Networks and HBO.

A book signing will follow his lecture.
