New Mexico State University to host distinguished American scholar

The New Mexico State University Office of the Provost will host a professor from Stanford University as part of Phi Beta Kappa's 2004-2005 Couper Scholars Program.


Peter Stansky, who is the Francis and Charles Field professor of history, will present "The London Blitz and Modern Terror" at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 10 in Milton Hall Room 171.

The Couper Scholars Program allows distinguished American scholars to visit colleges and universities. It is funded by a $100,000 grant from the Mellon Foundation.

The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation's oldest academic honor society. It advocates education in the liberal arts and sciences and recognition of academic excellence to foster freedom of thought and expression.
