New Mexico State to hold two talks on the topic of terrorism

Two discussions about terrorism will be held at New Mexico State University in response to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon last week.


tory Department and student historical honor society will present a panel discussion on the historical roots of terrorism at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, in Breland Hall room 182.

The panel, which will include faculty members from the history and government departments, will discuss the historical basis for last week's terrorist attack in New York City and Washington, D.C., said Katy Brack, treasurer of Phi Alpha Theta, the historical honor society.

"We want to keep the focus more on the historical foundation of terrorism," Brack said.

On Monday, Sept. 24, at 1 p.m., government Professor Yosef Lapid will hold a discussion titled "Responding to Terrorism: Opportunities, Risks and Dilemmas." The discussion will be held in the Dona Ana Room of Corbett Center and is open to the public.
