Hewlett-Packard executive to speak at New Mexico State University

Michele Goins, vice president and chief information officer of Hewlett-Packard's Imaging and Printing Systems will speak Friday, Sept. 21, at New Mexico State University about workplace diversity and the Latino community, and about the skills required by today's computer industry.

talk is one of a series presented by New Mexico State's Klipsch School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

She will speak from 1-2:20 p.m. in Thomas and Brown Hall, Room 104. Her presentation is open to the public, said Steve Castillo, head of the Klipsch School.

Based in Palo Alto, Calif., Goins was recently named one of the top 50 Hispanic women in business. She has worldwide responsibility for Hewlett-Packard's information and printing systems technology and systems. She also is a member of the company's chief information officer council, which governs companywide information technology investment and system performance objectives.

The Klipsch School of Electrical and Computer Engineering sponsors talks each semester of interest to engineers, engineering students and the public, Castillo said.
