New Mexico State University Museum announces return of family workshops

The New Mexico State University Museum will hold the first of the fall semester's Saturday Family Workshops from 2-3:30 p.m. Sept. 15.


kshops educate children about historic and prehistoric Southwestern and border cultures through arts and crafts.

Children attending the first workshop will have the opportunity to paint traditional Native American and Southwestern designs on pots and view current museum exhibits.

Upcoming workshop dates and topics include:

Sept. 22, Make Feather and Pipe Cleaner Sculptures.

Sept. 29, Make Your Own Necklace Out of Beads and Yarn.

A complete schedule for the semester will be announced soon.

The museum is located in Kent Hall on the university campus, where Solano Drive meets University Avenue. Workshops will be held outside in the museum courtyard, weather permitting.
