Rodriguez named interim dean of graduate school

Roy C. Rodriguez, a professor in the College of Education at New Mexico State University, will become interim dean of the university's Graduate School on Aug. 15.


ez has been a faculty member in the Department of Educational Management and Development since 1983. From 1992 to 1998, he was associate dean of research and administration for the College of Education. He also has served as head of his department and as campus director of the Hispanic Border Leadership Institute.

Rodriguez has a doctorate in educational administration and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and bachelor's and master's degrees in political science from the University of Texas at El Paso.

Timothy J. Pettibone, who has been dean of the Graduate School since August 1993, has accepted a position as dean of the Graduate College at Oklahoma State University. Rodriguez will serve as interim dean while a national search is conducted for a new graduate dean.
