University Art Gallery sale to benefit "Close to the Border"

The New Mexico State University Art Gallery will hold a "Renovation Sale" from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 14, featuring donated artworks, frames, crates, Plexiglas cases, books, magazines and other bargains.


e will be held on the lawn of Williams Hall, just east of Solano on University Avenue. Proceeds will benefit the gallery's biennial exhibition "Close to the Border/Cerca de la Frontera."

The University Art Gallery is under renovation and will reopen in September with the "Louis Ocepek Retrospective" exhibition.

The renovated gallery will feature a new heating and air conditioning system that can meet professional museum standards for humidity and temperature control.
