Study Abroad Fair to be held

New Mexico State University's Office of Study Abroad will hold its spring Study Abroad Fair from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, on the first floor of Corbett Center.

The fair will include various academic and exchange opportunities and will give NMSU students an opportunity to talk with the Office of Study Abroad staff about applying for programs, financial aid and earning credit. Students also will have the opportunity to speak with former and current exchange students about their experiences. The spring fair emphasizes the intensive language and exchange programs offered.

"Studying abroad adds value to the academic experience and you can earn credit," said Paul Huntsberger, assistant director for the Office of Study Abroad. "For students interested in improving their language skills, there is no substitute for going to another country to do so."

The fair will include seminars on the Spanish intensive language programs in the Otero Room throughout the day to answer student questions. Door prizes also will be awarded during the day, including T-shirts and gift certificates.

The Office of Study Abroad offers programs in 42 countries.

The deadline for applying for study abroad for the summer is May 1. Students are encouraged to apply early, as many programs are limited.
