"Representing 'Real Indians' in the Andes" lecture to be presented at NMSU

New Mexico State University's Center for Latin American and Border Studies will host "Representing 'Real Indians': Ethnicity, Religion and Authenticity in the Andes," a lecture by Jose Antonio Lucero, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15.


an assistant professor of political science from Temple University, recently completed extensive field work with indigenous peoples' organizations in the Andes, mainly in Ecuador. His main areas of research are social movements, democratization and representation in Latin America.

The public is invited to attend this free lecture. Refreshments will be served. The Center for Latin American and Border Studies is located in the Nason House near the corner of University Avenue and Espina Street.
