Police agencies hosting safety awareness and self-defense courses in February

Area police agencies are holding free personal safety and self-defense courses until Feb. 19 at Club Fusion, 101 E. Union Ave. in Las Cruces.


Mexico State University Police Department will present courses on hands-on self-defense, the New Mexico State Police and the Dona Ana County Sheriff's Department will have pepper spray training courses and the Las Cruces Police Department will host courses on personal safety awareness.

Course times and dates are as follows:

-- 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 2 -- Pepper Spray Course.

-- 6 to 10 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3 -- Hands-on Self-Defense Course.

-- 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5 -- Personal Safety Awareness Course.

-- 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9 -- Pepper Spray Course.

-- 6 to 10 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 10 -- Hands-on Self-Defense Course.

-- 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12 -- Personal Safety Awareness Course.

-- 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Feb. 16 -- Pepper Spray Course.

-- 6 to 10 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 17 -- Hands-on Self-Defense Course.

-- 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19 -- Personal Safety Awareness Course
