Larry Hardy appointed personnel director at NMSU

Larry Hardy has been named personnel director for New Mexico State University. He will assume the position in mid-April.


as 24 years of human resources experience, including 11 years in personnel management with New York Life Insurance Co., where he served as manager of personnel policies and senior human resources services consultant, and seven years as the affirmative action officer for the University of California, Office of the President. His latest position was associate vice chancellor for human resources for the Peralta Community College District in Oakland, Calif.

His areas of expertise include state and federal compliance, recruitment and retention, ADA/EEO and civil rights, benefits and compensation, risk management and performance management programs.

"We are delighted that Larry Hardy is joining us at New Mexico State University," said Ben Woods, the university's vice president for human and physical resources. "We appreciate the efforts of the search committee and everyone who participated in the process of filling this important position."

Hardy earned his bachelor's degree from City University of New York and his master of business administration degree from California State University, Hayward.
