Finalists for NMSU presidency to interview March 11-17

The five finalists for the New Mexico State University presidency are scheduled to participate in campus interviews between March 11 and 17.


nalist will participate in a full day of interviews and meetings with various groups, including an open session for NMSU faculty, staff and students; an open session for the general public, legislators and elected officials; and a video teleconference with NMSU's four branch campuses across the state.

John Wanat, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, will interview on Thursday, March 11. Wanat will have a video teleconference with the branch campuses from 11 to 11:45 a.m. He will have an open session with faculty, staff and students from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Senate Chambers and Gallery, located on the third floor of the Corbett Center Student Union on the main campus, and an open session for the general public, legislators and elected officials from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. in the same location.

Tito Guerrero III, president of Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas, will interview on Friday, March 12. Guerrero will have a video teleconference with the branch campuses from 1 to 1:45 p.m. He will have an open session with faculty, staff and students from 2 to 3 p.m. and an open session for the general public, legislators and elected officials from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m., both in the Corbett Center Senate Chambers and Gallery.

Richard Ringeisen, chancellor of the University of Illinois at Springfield, will interview on Monday, March 15. Ringeisen will have a video teleconference with the branch campuses from 11 to 11:45 p.m. He will have an open session with faculty, staff and students from 1 to 2 p.m. and an open session for the general public, legislators and elected officials from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m., both in the Corbett Center Senate Chambers and Gallery.

William V. Flores, interim president and provost of NMSU, will interview on Tuesday, March 16. Flores will have a video teleconference with the branch campuses from 1 to 1:45 p.m. He will have an open session with faculty, staff and students from 2 to 3 p.m. and an open session for the general public, legislators and elected officials from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m., both in the Corbett Center Senate Chambers and Gallery.

Michael V. Martin, vice president for agriculture and natural resources at the University of Florida, will interview on Wednesday, March 17. Martin will have a video teleconference with branch campuses from 11 to 11:45 a.m. He will have an open forum with faculty, staff and students from 1 to 2 p.m. and an open session for the general public, legislators and elected officials from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m., both in the Corbett Center Senate Chambers and Gallery.

The branch campus video teleconferences will originate in Room 272 of the Dona Ana Branch Community College in Las Cruces, with links to sites at the campuses in Alamogordo, Carlsbad and Grants.
