Bensley to receive Roberts Memorial Staff Award

Roseanne Bensley, an assistant director at New Mexico State University's Placement and Career Services, has been selected to receive the Stephen W. and Robert E. Roberts Memorial Staff Award.

will be presented a plaque and the $750 award at a ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 11, in the Corbett Center Student Union Room 317. The presentation is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The Roberts Memorial Staff Award is presented annually to a staff member who has made a contribution to university life and demonstrated dedication and outstanding service to the community as a responsible citizen.

"Roseanne is widely recognized for her knowledge of career exploration and job placement. She keeps her finger on the pulse of the career services profession and generously shares her expertise with others," said Vice President for Student Services Gladys De Necochea, who nominated Bensley for the award. "Her perennially sunny disposition makes her work seem effortless and belies the range of organizational skills that are in play to provide consistently good work."

The Roberts Award was established in 1983 in memory of Stephen W. and Robert E. Roberts, sons of former university Assistant Vice President for Business Affairs George W. Roberts and his wife, Bernice. The award is made possible through donations of the Roberts family and friends.

Stephen, a 1974 New Mexico State graduate and Robert, a New Mexico State student, were killed in an automobile accident in 1978.
