Keyboard Concert Series concludes at New Mexico State University

New Mexico State University's Keyboard Concert Series will conclude its 2003-2004 concerts with a recital by pianist Andrea Anderson at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 18, in the Music Center Recital Hall.

The program will include Mozart's Variations on Christoph Gluck's "Unser dummer Pobel meint," "Souvenir de Porto Rico" by Louis Moreau Gottschalk, Maurice Ravel's "Gaspard de la nuit" and "Deux Etudes De Senorite" by Francois Morel.

The New York Times praised Anderson's playing as "vital and personal ... fluent, capable and convincing." The Los Angeles Times wrote: "She played an exposed agenda of music ... with stunning ease, clear projection and considerable sophistication. She is a pianist of fine native and developed qualities."

Anderson studied at the Manhattan School of Music, Columbia University, the University of Southern California and earned her Ph.D. at Claremont Graduate University.
