President's Associates board to host 25th Anniversary Gala

Expect to be dazzled, entertained and have your palate pleased as the New Mexico State University President's Associates board of directors hosts the 25th Anniversary Black Tie Silver and Spurs Gala at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 17, at the Dickerson Event Center.

The NMSU President's Associates organization was developed in the late 1970s to promote academic excellence and reward superior student performance. The President's Associates board is a group of community volunteers who support NMSU by raising funds for the university's most prestigious scholarships and assisting in academic programs and research.

This year's Gala will salute past board members and President's Associates scholars. A portion of the money raised at the event will fund two additional President's Associates scholars. Currently 60 students receive the four-year President's Honors Scholarship of $6,800.

Eula Fern Thompson is the current president of the President's Associates board. Other members are Margie Rankin, Sheila Bullock, Margo Lamb, Margy Walker-Papen, George Ruth, Greg Carrasco, Martha Cole, Mary Henson, Emily Moberly, Bernadette Montoya, Jan Morehead, Brenda Porter, J.B. Pruett, Edith Reeves and Robin Welsh.
