NMSU Library exhibit celebrates El Dia de Los Ninos/El Dia de Los Libros

The New Mexico State University Library will host an exhibit of bilingual (Spanish-English) children's books Thursday, April 29, and Friday, April 30, on the first floor of Zuhl Library.


ibit is in celebration of El Dia de Los Ninos/El Dia de Los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day). Prepared by Irene Shown of the Reference and Research Services Department, it features children's books and books about children's literature that are available to be checked out by campus and guest borrowers.

Free bookmarks are available and a "name the author" contest will be held. The winner of the contest will receive a poster.

El Dia de Los Ninos/El Dia de Los Libros was founded by Pat Mora, a noted children's author and member of the New Mexico Chapter of REFORMA, which is the National Association to Promote Library and Information Services to Latinos and the Spanish-Speaking. The program's emphasis is to help communities celebrate the importance of reading in many languages.

El Dia de Los Ninos/El Dia de Los Libros is sponsored by the New Mexico Chapter of REFORMA.
