Teachers encouraged to attend NMSU's Borderlands Writing Project summer institute

The Borderlands Writing Project at New Mexico State University is encouraging teachers to attend its Annual Summer Invitational Institute on the NMSU campus. Applications to attend will be accepted through Feb. 10.

titute will be held from May 30 to June 30 and will focus on writing, research and reading response groups and the public sharing of writing.

Those who attend will receive six graduate credits and a stipend for tuition, books and some materials. Day care assistance and on-campus housing also will be available.

The Borderlands Writing Project is a professional development project of the Education and Arts and Sciences colleges at NMSU. Like the National Writing Project, its purpose is to place teachers at the center of their own development.
