NMSU President Martin to be featured on next segment of "Minding Your Business"

Michael V. Martin, president of New Mexico State University, will be the special guest on KRWG TV's program "Minding Your Business" on Wednesday, Feb. 1.


gram is aired at 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday with repeat broadcasts at 10:30 a.m. the following Sunday.
Martin will discuss this year's legislative agenda for NMSU, the university's contributions to the region and his ideas as to how the university can reach national prominence.

Representatives from White Sands Missile Range will be the guests on the Feb. 8 program.

On Feb. 15, two NMSU officials - Steven Castillo, dean of the College of Engineering and Tom Burton, academic head of Mechanical Engineering - will be interviewed.

Officials from Jemez Pueblo, who want to build a casino in Anthony, will be the guests on Feb. 22. Dave Holly, KRWG TV interim general manager, said officials from Sunland Park Racetrack and Casino, who oppose the casino, have also been contacted, but have not responded.

"We're giving the principal players a positive platform with which they can present their facts," Holly said.

On March 1, the guest will be Bill Grigaliunas, NMSU interim director of university broadcasting, who will discuss the spring pledge drive and new ideas the television station is trying out.

Holly said future programs will include conversations with U.S. Sens. Jeff Bingaman, D-N.M., and Pete Domenici, R-N.M., as well as another visit with Gov. Bill Richardson, who will share his thoughts about the 2006 legislative session. Also, officials with the Johnson Space Center have expressed interest in being guests on the program.
