New Mexico State University professor contributes to physical education book

Peter Maud of New Mexico State University has contributed to and edited "Physiological Assessment of Human Fitness," a book about testing for fitness used in graduate and professional work.

k, which is in its second edition, was first published in 1995. Maud, an exercise physiologist in the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, said it has been completely revised, with new chapter writers, compilations of chapters and up-to-date information and research. Maud said the new version includes new, innovative methods of assessment and the established methods and is appropriate for a reference text and for graduate course adoption.

"This book fulfills the literature needs of the profession," Maud said.

The book was co-edited with Carl Foster, exercise physiologist from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and president of the American College of Sports Medicine. Joe Berning, NMSU assistant professor of physical education, recreation and dance, was also a contributing co-author for the book.
